About
Moved to New premises in 2018…
A Brief History
Patterns (Derby) Ltd was formed in 1947 operating from Margaret Street in Derby where owner Sam Attwood and his family lived. Patterns later moved to premises in Darley street and then finally to Darley Abbey Mills.
Sam was a patternmaker, so Patterns initially specialised in all types of patterns for the foundry industry. The Accurate woodwork led to Rolls-Royce approaching Patterns for fixtures to check Engine pipes which were carved from wood, this evolved over the years to the Alum Fixture we make today.
In 2010 current owner Anthony Attwood decided to expand his property side of the business and gave Simon & Stephen the opportunity to buy Patterns. Since then they have built onto a great reputation by securing accreditation from RR Aerospace and New accreditations from RR Submarines. They have invested a lot into the company and in August 2018 moved to their own new premises, which allow them to be more efficient and creates the Image they want.
